Calcined Flint Clay

Calcined Flint Clay is a refractory raw material made from naturally occurring kaolin or clay slate. Calcination, i.e. heating at high temperatures, removes organic components and water, giving the material its refractory quality. This raw material is characterized by high temperature resistance, resistance to thermal shocks and acids, and for this reason it is often used in steel production, glass production and other high-temperature processes where refractory materials are required. Calcined Flint Clay is an important ingredient in the manufacture of refractory linings for industrial furnaces, melting pots and other applications where extremely high temperatures are encountered.

Applications

Calcined Flint Clay is widely used as an aggregate in refractory materials to further improve their heat resistance and mechanical strength. It is often used in the manufacture of refractory bricks and fireclay bricks. In addition, calcined flint clay is also used in the ceramic industry to make refractory ceramic products.
