Calcined Kyanite is produced by calcination of Virginia Kyanite, an alumino silicate. Kyanite ore is crushed, the kyanite crystals are separated from other ore components and impurities by flotations and gravity separation. The result is Virginia Kyanite with a purity of 92-96%. The kyanite is transformed to Calcined Kyanite by calcination in a rotary kiln. Calcined Kyanite has a high thermal volume stability and high thermal shock resistance. Calcined Kyanite is characterized by an excellent high-temperature creep and corrosion resistance.
